VACV bOARD OF DIRECTORS
John Warshow - Chairman
John is partner of Winooski
and Springfield Hydroelectric Companies and Winooski One Partnership
and vice president of Spruce Mtn Design, Inc. He is the former
co-chair of the executive committee/chief spokesperson for
the Vermont Hydropower Coalition, a group representing all 295
hydroelectric power generators in Vermont. From 1983-1985 John
was vice president and director of the Vermont Independent Power
Producers Association, a 60-member association of Vermont's independent
electric power producers. From 1978-1982 John was the Town energy
coordinator for the town of Plainfield. From 1979-1980 he was
a grant administrator for the U.S. Department of Energy and in
1980 he was an energy advisor for the Attorney General's Office.
John is an elected Member of the board of corporators, at the
Northfield Savings Bank; the chair of the Marshfield Board of
Selectmen; a board member of the Vermont River Conservancy and
a board member of Heritage Winooski. John lives in Marshfield
with his wife and two sons.
Wally Elton
Wally is the Executive Director of the Upper Valley Trails Alliance. He is a founding board member of VACV in 1982 when VACV was an all volunteer organization. He has served on the board of Audubon Vermont and is currently in his third year as president of Ascutney Mountain Audubon. Wally was instrumental in starting a recycling committee in his home town of Springfield, Vermont.
Erik Filkorn
A native of California, Erik is a public
relations expert. His experience includes working for music
publishing firms and with artists such as Aimee Mann, Henry Rollins,
Roger Daltrey, Michelle Shocked, and Stevie Wonder. Erik has
also worked press advance for the Clinton White House. His local
clientele includes Northfield Savings Bank, The Adamant Music
School, Vermont Coffee Company and the Bluehouse Group. Erik
is a Selectboard Member for the town of Richmond where he lives
with his wife and daughter.
Jim Shallow
Jim is the executive director of Audubon
Vermont the state program of the National Audubon Society. He
has been working with Audubon for five years and prior to that
he worked as the forest program director at the Vermont Natural
Resources Council. He graduated from the Colorado College with
a Bachelor’s degree in
History and Political Science. He lives in Richmond, with his
wife Carol and their kids Nicholas and Molly.
Warner Shedd
Warner is the author of Owls

He is also the former regional director of the National Wildlife
Federation. Warner lives in Calais with his wife Edie.
